RBC Wealth Management has promoted Janet Boie to senior director of human resources, a role that serves more than 5,000 employees in the U.S., and has named her to the company’s 11-member executive committee, which now includes four women.

Boie is the second woman to be appointed to the committee over the past six months. In July 2021, Shareen Luze, RBC’s head of culture and field experience, became a member.

“At RBC, we strive to demonstrate our commitment to diversity and inclusion through action and that includes ensuring women and people of color are represented at the highest levels of leadership,” according to Michael Armstrong, CEO of RBC Wealth Management-U.S. “In the historically male-dominated financial services industry, RBC is proud to be leading the way, ensuring women’s voices are heard.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the firm says, Boie was “instrumental in prioritizing employee health and safety … by serving as a core member of RBC’s global incident management team, developing processes and systems to enable effective information gathering, risk assessment, and contact tracing.”
