NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed lower in the Friday’s session.
Umang Dairies(up 9.51%), DFM Foods(up 8.13%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 4.89%), Bajaj Consumer(up 4.69%), Prataap Snacks(up 3.76%), Zydus Wellness(up 3.57%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 3.36%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.59%), Varun Beverages(up 2.52%) and Hind.Foods(up 2.46%) stood among the top gainers.
Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 13.66%), Emami(down 5.11%), Nakoda Group(down 1.84%), Vadilal Industries(down 0.60%), Dangee Dums(down 0.50%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.48%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.06%) and Marico(down 0.02%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 25.85 points down at 15782.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 136.69 points at 52793.62.
Tata Motors(up 8.6%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 3.82%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.8%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.59%), ITC(up 2.25%), UPL Ltd(up 2.17%), Titan Company Ltd(up 2.11%), Eicher Motors(up 2.01%), Hero MotoCorp(up 2.0%) and Britannia Industries(up 1.92%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 4.4%), JSW Steel(down 3.9%), State Bank of India(down 3.89%), NTPC(down 2.96%), ICICI Bank(down 2.65%), Bharti Airtel(down 2.2%), Axis Bank(down 2.11%), Maruti Suzuki(down 2.09%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.89%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.88%) closed in the red.
