Glowka Wealth Management fills out Newport Center’s lower level

With the recent addition of Glowka Wealth Management, the lower level of Newport Center on Farmington Avenue is filled to capacity.

“This is a culmination of a lot of effort between Newport Realty Group and the Town of Berlin,” Economic Development Director Chris Edge said. “This bottom of the building sat vacant for 10 years, and everybody always wondered what was happening.”

Over the past 22 months, however, business partners Tony Valenti and Mark Lovley of Newport Realty Group succeeded in filling the commercial level of the structure with tenants.

“This is another great addition to our Newport Realty Group here in Berlin,” Valenti said at the May 20 ribbon-cutting for Glowka Wealth Management. “We continue to be excited with everything that we do here in town. As you can tell, we love the ‘mom and pop’ tenants … [Y]ou’re the kind of tenants and businesses that really bring up the economy, and we love working with them, and we appreciate your tenancy.”

Born in Poland, business owner John Glowka came to the United States as a youngster, and has worked in the financial industry for more than 30 years.

Glowka Wealth Management, 848 Farmington Ave., Suite 6, specializes in financial and estate planning, investment management, and tax efficiency strategies.

“Our clients are our bosses,” said Glowka, who works alongside his son Joe and son-in-law Robert McKinnon.

Before setting up shop in Newport Center, Glowka Wealth Management was located in New Britain.

Glowka, who has resided in Berlin since 2003, jumped at the chance to move his business to town. “We enjoy keeping it all in Berlin,” he said.
