Trump was seen arriving at Dulles International Airport in Virginia, which is located just 26 miles outside downtown the district, according to a video posted online by a freelance reporter.
The former president was documented wearing his golf shoes and a white polo, spurring rumors online that speculated the flight was unplanned and may be related to one of the federal investigations he is under.
However, Trump later put rumors to rest with a post on Truth Social, stating he was “working today at [Trump National Golf Club] on the Potomac River. What an incredible place!”
Further details on the trip were not made available. There is no evidence indicating that Trump is due in court or faces criminal charges as of Monday.
The visit comes nearly two months after Trump returned to Washington, D.C., for the first time since leaving office, appearing at the America First Policy Institute’s two-day America First Agenda Summit in July. During that speech, Trump teased launching a second reelection bid, though the former president has not made any formal announcements.
