Fort Worth City Employees' executive director leaving pension fund

Benita Falls Harper, executive director of the Fort Worth (Texas) City Employees’ Retirement Fund, will leave the pension fund Sept. 28.

Ms. Harper, who has led the $2.6 billion pension fund since June 2019, is departing to take on a new position, spokesman Jeff Rodriguez said in an email.

Before ascending to the executive director position, Ms. Harper had served in the role on an interim basis after the departure of Joelle Mevi in December 2018. Ms. Harper originally joined the fund as legal counsel in July 2017.

Mr. Rodriguez said an interim executive director has not been named. Details regarding a search for a permanent replacement for Ms. Harper were not provided.

Mr. Rodriguez and Ms. Harper could not be immediately reached for further information.
